Collection: Tapers
Taper candles are tall, slender candles that are wider at the base and gradually narrow to a pointed tip. They also require a candlestick holder for stability, although some of my wider-based taper options can be gently melted on their bottom and stuck onto a heat-safe plate (such as a teacup saucer or pillar candle plate).
Uses:
Historically, taper candles were an essential light source, especially during long winter evenings. They continue to be a classic candle style today where they are mainly used for timeless, aesthetic décor. They are particularly popular at formal events and romantic dinners. Due to their tall, narrow shape, they are ideal for flexibility in scenarios where you want to burn a candle for an indefinite time; as little as 20 minutes or as long as several hours.
How to Burn:
Because tapers have such a narrow diameter, they do not have a specific minimum or maximum burn time, although it is ideal to burn any candle for at least 10 or 20 minutes! Taper candles typically get about 1 hour of burn time per inch of height, although that will vary based on the style.
My taper candles are wicked to provide a virtually dripless experience when burned in a draft-free environment.
